EMILY DIRECTOR of events & venue operations EXPERT PLANNER + Expert day of coordinator - WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOUR JOB? - I love working with clients, couples and their families from the first tour to their big day. It is so rewarding to be able to plan and implement events, assist with every venue detail and ensure that their vision becomes a reality. For weddings, I still tear up with each walk down the aisle! I also love working with corporate and non-profit organizations as this type of event planning is related to my educational background and previous professional experience. - FUN FACT - I have a PhD in Educational Policy and Administration from the University of MN and worked in college administration for many years prior to joining this awesome team in 2017. - FAVORITE ANIMAL - A gecko - they are colorful but can also blend into their surroundings when needed. Some geckos can even "parachute" fly - leaping up to 200 feet in a single bound (so efficient!). - ANYTHING ELSE?- I was married in Stillwater and live here with my family just a mile from the downtown area. We love this beautiful river town and all that it has to offer! 
JAGGER Director of studio operations + ESCAPE ROOM MANAGER PHOTOGRAPHER - WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOUR JOB? - I love that this job gives me the opportunity to get creative and work in multiple different businesses (photography, escape rooms and weddings/events)! I graduated from St. Thomas with a degree in Entrepreneurship and I couldn't imagine a more unique and fun way to put that to good use, meet awesome people and grow in my passions! - FUN FACT - My Husband and I have two rescue puppies. A Rottsky and a St. Chowsky! - FAVORITE ANIMAL - Elephant! They have a deep connection and love for their family and they represent harmony and compassion. - ANYTHING ELSE? - I love photographing people and have my own photography business that is run through Studio J! 
CORY photographer + Venue supervisor + Bartender + EXPERT DAY OF COORDINATOR - WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOUR JOB? - I love how I'm always doing something different from day to day, whether it be working in the photography studio, shooting a wedding, or bartending a concert, it never gets boring! - FUN FACT - I once started a campfire with a AA battery and a gum wrapper when I forgot to pack matches!! - FAVORITE ANIMAL - Monkey! 
JEFF Security - WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOUR JOB? - is meeting new people and kicking them out at the end of the night. - FUN FACT - I love to garden...flowers, vegetables, and giant pumpkins. - FAVORITE ANIMAL - I am an avid hunter so my Favorite animal would be a mountain lion. They are gifted hunters, patient, and like to hunt alone. - ANYTHING ELSE?- I like to stay busy. I retired from a law enforcement career at the age of 53 and now find myself busier than ever. I have three part time jobs, a love for the outdoors, and I am an admitted sports fanatic. 
CALLIE Event lead + DAY OF COORDINATOR - WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOUR JOB? - My favorite part of my job is transforming our venue to look like each bride and groom's dream! When it is all set, I love being able to witness the joy. when the guests come and the ceremony happens, I love being in the background to witness it. - FUN FACT - I collect DVD's. I have around 100 DVD's of various movie genres. My goal is to have a huge DVD collection and in-home theater some day! - FAVORITE ANIMAL - Giraffe! They symbolize a balance between head and heart, and I keep them as a reminder when I go through tough times. - ANYTHING ELSE?- For my whole life I have been planning things for my family. Being able to do it as a job doesn't really feel like work.

JUDD chief executive artist photographer - WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOUR JOB? - When shooting, I love getting fast, creative shots that wow the clients. I love to pull them away from the party for a breath of fresh air and some much needed time together before they get back to all the talking and fun. At events, I love the dining room reveal and listening to unscripted speeches the most. I love watching our amazing staff and clients celebrate life in the spaces we have worked so hard to create. - FUN FACT - When I play skee ball, I always shoot for the "100". - FAVORITE ANIMAL - A Chameleon, I really wanted a flying chameleon but if we are going fantasy I guess a talking, flying unicorn that can shoot fireworks.. - ANYTHING ELSE?- I used to be a math teacher and baseball/football coach and taught myself photography which led to the multiple wedding and events businesses. I still coach my three sons' sports teams at the high school level, and they help with the venues! 
JOSH ESCAPE ROOM architect PHOTOGRAPHER - WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOUR JOB? - I could say my favorite part of my job is the variety, or the creativity, or the excitement of getting an awesome image that no one has ever taken, but I would be leaving out the most important part. The People! It's the fantastic team I get to work with and the new people I get to meet every day. Whether it is at a staff meeting, photoshoot or running one of our escape rooms, the people are who I keep showing up for! - FUN FACT - My wife and I travel around the world whenever we get the chance and have a goal to see every continent before our 40th birthdays. This year we are going to Australia! - FAVORITE ANIMAL - Emu - Because they have awesome dinosaur feet! - ANYTHING ELSE?- I have a pet hedgehog named Ms. Wallace Rose, she runs 20 miles a week (no joke). 
KALLAN office manager + vendor network + Expert Day of Coordinator - WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOUR JOB? - I love the rush of energy that staff and couples get at the beginning of the day! The wedding day is extremely meaningful for the couple and their family, so to be a part of that is very rewarding. - FUN FACT - I used to model, and funny enough have been on the cover of Minnesota Bride a few times! - FAVORITE ANIMAL - Horse! They are eager to please and learn, intuitive, independent, and love being outdoors! Not to mention horses are also my favorite animal. - ANYTHING ELSE? - I love everything about weddings, from the vision to the execution.

GRETA Event lead + Day of coordinator - WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOUR JOB? - As an event lead I get the joy of witnessing the whole day, my favorite part to witness? First look! And my most favorite task, a wine pour. - FUN FACT - I love thrifting, antiquing and upcycling. Seeing thrifted decor, especially centerpieces, is so cool to me! Unique, personalized and good for our earth. - FAVORITE ANIMAL - My favorite animal is a panda because of their beautiful black and white fur. Turtles are also really cute to me - ANYTHING ELSE?- Exploring Stillwater has been a great benefit while working at One23Events! When I am off the clock, I love to walk the St. Croix bridge and then grab an ice cream at Leo's! 
BROOKE Event lead + Day of coordinator - WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOUR JOB? - I love seeing how all the small decorative details come together, and especially the creative floral arrangements! I also enjoy watching the grand march and feeling the exciting energy and love in the air! - FUN FACT - I have had stitches in my chin 3 different times, but never had a bloody nose. - FAVORITE ANIMAL - Hummingbirds! They are small but fierce and energetic. I'm jealous of their ability to fly and see the world from above. - ANYTHING ELSE?- I love to be outside and active- running, hiking, biking, and rollerblading, and I spend 5+ days a week in the Summer practicing and performing with my Waterski team in White Bear. |
